in 2018 I was overjoyed to record with Max Ridley on an album that never saw the light of day. Last year, he decided to revisit this wonderful project, and I’m so glad he did! We re-recorded in 2024 and he blended the two sessions in a unique and beautiful way to release WAITING TO CROSS/SANDMAN’S RIVER, which is part 2 in his album trilogy.
From Max Ridley:
“This album was recorded at the old Record Company in a blitz of manic energy in one day with my dear friends who had little idea what was going to happen back in 2018. Some tap dance overdubs were added this past year at the new Record Company (around the corner and downstairs from where it used to be on Mass Ave in Boston). Also, some Ondes Martenot, fiddle, claps and banjo/voice redos were added at Studio Renteria (my friend Ryan's house). Even though it was recorded earlier, it's thematically the second in a trilogy of albums that starts with my last record "Swear Jar". I'm really happy with how it came out and I hope you enjoy it!”
